The Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) as a sector leader in the environmental management space is convening a reflection and celebratory session with all stakeholders in the impact assessment segment.  This session comes at the time where the country marks twenty (20) years since it officially adopted the Environmental Impact Assessment as an environmental management instrument.  To this end, the Department wish to officially invite a representative or representatives from your institution, who are mainly responsible for impact assessment to join other sector stakeholders when we reflect on challenges and failures, celebrate the successes of the past 20 years as well as plan for the years ahead.  The celebratory event will precede the 38th annual conference of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA18) to be held from the 16-19th of May 2018, at the Durban International Convention Center (ICC) in KwaZulu-Natal Province.  You are therefore requested to forward all the names and contact details of representative/s formally nominated to attend or contribute at this event to Ms. Toinette Van Der Merwe at 012 399 8639 or email at tvandermerwe@environment.gov.za; IEAcomments@environment.gov.za
