Qualifications/Experience Required:

You:

  • Have strong birding skills and an interest in learning 
  • Are equally interested in the environment as you are in growing professionally and personally
  • Appreciate a good debate, even with your boss
  • Figure out how to fix a problem instead of who to blame
  • Paid for your own belongings when you were a teenager/student
  • Want work that excites you on a Monday morning
  • Have an Honours or Master’s degree in the zoological or ecological sciences
  • Excited to travel extensively throughout South Africa, often to remote areas
  • Have field experience doing faunal surveys and good research skills
  • Experience using QGis 
  • Excellent communication skills and able to work with a range of people from government authorities to landowners and developers 
  • Want to grow professionally as a faunal specialist

We are a dynamic team looking to grow our service offering and looking for an ecologist with strong birding skills to join our team. We would like you to be SACNASP registered either professionally or as a candidate scientist.

Although our team is situated in Cape Town, we work remotely. If you are self-motivated and are someone who works well from home, we don’t mind where you are located provided you have a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
