Job description:
We are looking for someone who will be able to project manage, administrate and compile multiple, multi-disciplinary environmental projects and prepare proposals.
- Effectively project manage the environmental and social legislative processes applicable to the relevant country;
- Maintain an awareness of country applicable legislation and the potential impact on the various projects;
- Ensure the project team maintains a high quality standard in the services provided and in the deliverables produced;
- Participate in marketing the company and bringing in new business/projects;
- Effectively manage tasks relating to project team management which includes:
- Project resource allocation and workload forecasting;
- Project budget and invoice forecasting; and
- Training and developing junior staff.
- Effectively project manage the following:
- Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) according to the relevant legislation and international standards, such as the IFC Performance Standards;
- Environmental Permitting;
- Mining Right Applications;
- Working in close collaboration with specialists from other disciplines;
- Consultation with stakeholders;
- Project budgets and schedules;
- Liaising with clients and authorities; and
- Compile and write reports and other written deliverables for submission to the client and necessary authorities.
- Occasionally carry out field work under strenuous conditions.
Skills
- Professional Registration would be beneficial. (e.g. EAPASA).
- Understanding of applicable environmental and social legislation and international standards.
- Understanding and practical experience with environmental authorisation processes.
- Superior ESIA and ESMP report writing.
- Proven experience in large Project Managing environmental and social processes.
- Proven experience in managing a Project team.
- Strong interpersonal skills (build rapport etc.).
- Excellent communication skills (Both verbal and written).
- Strong customer orientation.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Superior organisation skills.
- Willing to travel locally and internationally, including the rest of Africa.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Qualifications/Experience Required :
- Post graduate degree in Environmental Management or similar.
- Project Management Certificate would be beneficial.
- 8 or more years’ experience in resettlement planning or social impact assessments and related field.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and prepared to obtain other vaccinations that may be required by clients and for travel purposes.
- Prepared to undergo a Pre-Employment Medical Assessment.
Salary range: Market Related based on experience.
