Course Description:

Our 1-day training program concerns the consequences of non-compliance with environmental legislation in South Africa. 

As part of our program, we will consider NEMA, NEM:AQA, NEMWA and the NWA and how these pieces of legislation deal with, inter alia, the following aspects of non-compliance: 

1.    Rectification. 
2. Compliance notices and directives. 
3. Penalties and offences. 
4. Private prosecutions. 
5. How to appeal a decision by the competent authority. 
6. Judicial review.
7. Reporting and responding to emergencies and/or incidents.
