More specifically, the organisation comprises of vibrant environmental assessment practitioners, specialists in various natural scientific fields of practice, social & health impact assessors, environmental planners, public participation specialists, amongst others.

Key Voluntary Association

The Industry Registration Authorities, i.e., Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA) and South African Council for Natural & Scientific Professionals (SACNASP), recognise IAIAsa as an accredited Voluntary Association. 

This enables IAIAsa to validate events offered for Continued Professional Development (CPD) purposes and enjoy other support to the profession offered by the Registration Authorities. 

IAIAsa is also highly regarded by the Natural Scientific Community and is one of the largest and most active voluntary associations for SACNASP.

Earn CPD PointsIAIAsa membership secures 1 Category 3 CPD point annually with both EAPASA and SACNASP.

Additionally, IAIAsa offers various CPD accredited events throughout the year, further contributing to your CPD portfolio.

IAIAsa memberships are open to students and graduates in various fields of study with an interest integrated environmental management, sustainable development, climate change, conservation, policy, law, and much more.

NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

Earn CPD PointsWhat are CPD points and why do they matter to students and recent graduates?  

To practice in the Impact Assessment sector, scientists and Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAPs) (which you will become) are required to register with the relevant Registration Authorities and renew their registration every 5 years. 

Graduates are encouraged to register as Candidate Professional Natural Scientists (Pr.Sci.Nat.) with the South African Council for Natural and Scientific Professions (SACNASP) and/or as Candidate EAPs with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association for South Africa (EAPASA). No prior work experience is required. 

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points are compulsory and keep your skill set current. They are compulsory to renew your professional registration.   

  • An IAIAsa membership gives you a head-start in your professional career by building your CPD points.
