Public Review & Commenting period for the Minimum Standards for Heritage Specialist Studies in terms of section 38(1) and section 38(8) of the NHRA development process – The Archaeology, Palaeontology & Meteorites Unit of the South African Heritage Resources Agency

The SAHRA Archaeology, Palaeontology and Meteorites (APM) Unit has updated the 2007 “Minimum Standards for Archaeological and Palaeontological components of an Impact Assessment Report”. The new document is now titled “Minimum Standards for Heritage Specialist Studies in terms of section 38(1) and section 38(8) of the NHRA development process”.

Following an internal SAHRA review process, the current updated draft is now available for public review and comment, the commenting period will end on the 31 October 2016 at 16h00. Please provide comments on the PDF document in an excel spreadsheet as follows:

Any comments received will be given due consideration and incorporated into the final document for council consideration.
Once Council has considered the document, the aim is for the new standards to be approved and implemented at the start of the next financial year.
