1. National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act 39 of 2004 – GN 513 in GG 41642 of 22 May 2018 – National Pollution Prevention Plans Regulations, 2017 amended

The Minister of Environmental Affairs has on 22 May 2018, in Notice 513 in Government Gazette 41642, amended the National Pollution Prevention Plan Regulations (published in Notice 712 on 21 July 2017). In terms of this amendment, the first pollution prevention plan is now due on or before 21 June 2018.

The Minister of Environmental Affairs gave notice on 25 May 2018, in Notice 516 in Government Gazette 41650, of her intention to amend the list of activities which result in atmospheric emissions. Members of the public are invited to submit written comments within 30 days from the date of publication of the notice.

3. National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act 39 of 2004 – GN 517 in GG 41650 of 25 May 2018 – Draft National Dust Control Regulations, 2018 – for comment

The Minister of Environmental Affairs gave notice on 25 May 2018, in Notice 517 in Government Gazette 41650, of her intention to repeal and replace the National Dust Control Regulations (published in Notice 827 on 1 November 2013) with new National Dust Control Regulations. Members of the public are invited to submit written comments within 30 days from the date of publication of the notice.
