Western Cape Student Branch Treasurer: Charlton Thys
Charlton holds a BA Hons degree in Geography and Environmental studies at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). He is continuing with research in wetland remote sensing and is currently doing his Masters at UWC. His research focusses on the application of remote sensing techniques and principles to explore the spatial and temporal dynamics of ecosystem services in wetland waterbodies.
Western Cape Student Branch Marketing/Media Officer: Helen Antonopoulos
Helen Antonopoulos obtained a BSc Honours in Environmental and Geographical Science at the University of Cape Town (UCT). She is completing her MSc in Environmental and Geographical Science at UCT, which focuses on using diatoms to reconstruct historical water quality conditions in the Knysna estuary. Helen is particularly interested in distinguishing the anthropological footprint.
