IAP2 Southern Africa (IAP2SA) is a recognised leader in public participation training, equipping practitioners across sectors with globally aligned frameworks, tools, and ethical standards for effective stakeholder engagement.
The IAP2 Way in Challenging Contexts is an advanced, practice-oriented course designed for professionals working in complex and high-pressure environments where competing interests, limited trust, and stakeholder conflict are common. The course builds on core P2/engagement principles as defined by the IAP2 community, including key models, roles, and standards of ethical and effective practice.
Participants will engage with these concepts in challenging contexts, developing practical skills to navigate power dynamics, manage conflict, and apply strategic tools such as the IAP2 Spectrum and Profiles of Participation. The course also emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, supporting the design of credible and context-sensitive engagement processes.
Through case studies, group discussions, and applied exercises, participants gain the confidence to manage complex engagement scenarios while improving project outcomes and strengthening stakeholder relationships.
